Sweden’s Stena spent about $420m building a series of sophisticated IMOIIMAX MR product and chemical tankers in China and, following delivery this year of the last ship, reckons the gamble has paid off.

Most of the investment has involved privately-owned subsidiary Stena Bulk, whose chief executive Erik Hanell tells TradeWinds that both owner and shipbuilder Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI) are very satisfied with the outcome.
