There is shipping blood on both sides of the Skaugen household. Morits Skaugen’s wife, Grace Montgomery Reksten Skaugen, is the daughter of the late shipowner Hilmar Reksten.
Before the 1970s shipping crisis, Reksten challenged Bergesen DY as Norway’s leading tanker owner.
Reksten Skaugen has a doctorate in laser physics from the Imperial College of Science and Technology, University of London, and has held numerous board positions, including a directorship at Statoil.
