An investigation has begun into the flooding of a cement carrier's steering gear compartment off Australia.
The Australian Transport Safety Board (ATSB) is probing the incident on the 15,500-dwt Goliath (built 1993) en route from Melbourne to Devonport on 7 March.
The CSL Australia vessel was carrying out ballast water exchange operations when it was found that salt water had entered the vessel.
