Transit slot cuts at the Panama Canal have dramatically reduced the number of LNG carrier transits through the waterway, potentially leading to a tightening of the market in this shipping sector, Angelicoussis Group deputy chief executive Sveinung Stohle said.
Speaking at the 23rd World LNG Summit & Awards meeting in Athens, Stohle said LNG carrier transits have fallen from one vessel a day to four or five per month.
