The master of a Mitsui OSK Lines-operated car carrier has abandoned ship after a huge blaze broke out in the Atlantic.
MOL Ship Management Singapore confirmed that the 6,400-ceu Felicity Ace (built 2005) had suffered a fire 90 nautical miles (about 170km) south of the Azores on 16 February.
It said the master had taken the “prudent” decision to abandon ship.
