Japan's Imabari Shipbuilding has joined forces with start-up technology company PowerX to develop and build its Power ARK energy transfer concept ship.
The collaboration involves Imabari investing ¥1bn ($8.8m) in PowerX. It will also develop and build the marine battery-powered concept ship by the end of 2025.
The Power ARK is the idea of PowerX founder, and well known Japanese executive, Masahiro Ito who made his name with ZOZO Corporation.
