New York investment manager Mangrove Partners has pocketed a $33m profit after selling two bulk carriers to Singapore shipowner Eastern Pacific Shipping.
The Idan Ofer-controlled company was reported by Clarksons to have bought the 209,200-dwt MP The Hightower and MP The Kraft (both built 2020) for $65m each.
The deal delivered a profit of $33m for Mangrove Partners, which had ordered the ships in 2018 at a reported price of $48.5m
