Sint Maarten is dealing with continuous complaints from people duped into paying for seafarer documents from a fake flag state operating in its name.
A website claiming to be the flag state of the Caribbean country offers ship registration services and seafarer documents but is described by the authorities as “bogus … and a scam”.
