Wisdom Marine Group has signed up for two 64,000-dwt bulker newbuildings at Japan's Imabari Shipbuilding in a deal worth $70m.
The Taiwanese shipowner has now ordered 10 ships worth $300m so far this year. The latest vessels will be delivered in 2024.
A Wisdom Marine executive confirmed the order, adding that all ships contracted this year will comply with the International Maritime Organization's Energy Efficiency Design Index Phase 3 standards, which become mandatory for bulker newbuildings in 2025.
