Mitsui OSK Lines, NYK Line and K Line have each ordered one LNG-fuelled newcastlemax bulker against long-term charters from compatriot steel maker JFE Steel Corp.
The 210,000-dwt newbuildings have all been ordered at the newly launched Nihon Shipyard, a joint venture between Imabari Shipbuilding and Japan Marine United (JMU).
Financial terms of the newbuilding contracts and the charters were not disclosed.
