South Korea’s SK Shipping has signed up for two more VLGC newbuildings at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries.
The deal for the LPG-fuelled, 91,000-cbm vessels means the shipowner has now booked four gas carriers at the South Korean shipyard.
Shipbuilding sources with knowledge of the deal said the company has ordered the vessels on the back of charters from Canada’s Petrogas Energy — an oil and gas liquids-handling company that owns and operates a propane export terminal in Washington state.
