China's Hengyi Petrochemical is joining the shipowning club with an order for up to eight MR tankers at Guangzhou Shipyard International (GSI).
Shipbuilding sources with knowledge on the deal said Shenzhen-listed Hengyi has booked four 49,600-dwt product and chemical tanker newbuildings at the Chinese state-owned shipyard.
The deal also includes options for an additional four ships.
Officials at Hengyi and GSI were not available for comment.
