Danish shipowners Evergas and Ultragas have paired up as Dan-Unity CO2 in a new joint venture to supply specialist gas carriers that will ship captured CO2.
The shared entity plans to ship the CO2 to Icelandic company Carbfix for storage underground, where it will undergo a fast-track transformation into rock.
Dan-Unity is developing outline specifications for three types of CO2 carriers of 7,500 cbm, 22,000 cbm and 50,000 cbm after being granted some funding from the Danish Maritime Association.
