An electric yacht builder that saw one of its ships go up in flames on the deck of a German-owned general cargo ship is denying its solar-power system had anything to do with the blaze.
Silent Yachts shot back at rival builder Alexander Marine, arguing its vessel’s loose fitting on board the 12,657-dwt BBC Virginia (built 2010) and rough seas preceded the fire that torched four ships, prompting Alexander Marine to file a lawsuit in the US federal court for the Southern District of Florida.
