A US district judge has finally signed off on Australasia Charterers' motion to seize assets over a bulker caught up in China's coal ban.
The decision comes as the low-profile charterer's claims against Singapore-based Worldwide Bulk Shipping top $6m.
After initially denying Australasia's motion to garnish property held by Worldwide Bulk's freight forwarding affiliate Worldwide Logistics and by Cargill, US District Judge Ricardo Martinez signed off on a new motion to do so on Monday.
