Master mariner David Handley believes the maritime sector needs to be more imaginative when trying to remove emissions from the equation.
The Watson Farley & Williams (WFW) lawyer warns that shipowners' efforts now could ultimately prove badly targeted as other industries move the goalposts.
"A lot of the conversations we have about decarbonising shipping is about decarbonising the industry as it looks today," Handley told TradeWinds.
