The Joint War Committee (JWC) has slashed the war risk policy cancellation notice period from seven days to just 48 hours in response to the war in Ukraine.
Normally when a new high-risk area — known as a listed area — is introduced or amended, underwriters issue a seven-day cancellation notification on existing policies. After that, new terms are usually agreed.
