Norwegian insurance giant Gard is targeting expansion in Japan by moving into new lines, including hull, war risks and loss of hire coverage.
It said on Thursday that it has “strong ambitions for growth” in Japan, where it has offered protection and indemnity cover for more than 30 years.
It also plans to offer builders’ risk insurance to shipyards and energy insurance to the emerging offshore wind industry in the country.
