Leading shipowner associations have launched a task force to lay the groundwork for the vaccination of the world’s seafarers against Covid-19 in a bid to end the crew-change crisis.
Led by the International Chamber of Shipping (ICS), the initiative involves Bimco, Intertanko, Intercargo, the International Maritime Employers' Council (IMEC) and others.
The group is meeting weekly to devise solutions to the practical, political and administrative problems involved in inoculating hundreds of thousands of seafarers.
