Divers sealed leaks on a sunken oil tanker off the coast of Philippines over the weekend as salvors prepared to pump out its cargo.
Divers from Harbor Star Shipping Services sealed nine valves in the cargo tanks of the 1,415-dwt Terranova (built 2002) on Sunday after discovering at least one leak of its cargo of industrial fuel.
The discovery of oil leaking from the cargo holds has pushed back plans to siphon the oil to a second ship has been delayed until at least Tuesday, according to the Manila Standard news site citing a coast guard official.
