A first LNG ship-to-ship (STS) transfer operation to breakbulk cargoes for shipment to China has taken place in Subic Bay in the Philippines.

Cargo was transferred from the 152,300-cbm Seri Bakti (built 2007) onto the 89,880-cbm Polar Spirit (built 1993) in an operation believed to have been carried out by Teekay Group company LNG STS.

The MISC-controlled Seri Bakti, which is acting as a mothership, is understood to have loaded a cargo in Australia for trader Koch.
