Singapore-headquartered Spark Commodities has launched a carbon-neutral LNG freight rate as it moves to tap into the acceleration in the energy transition.
Spark Neutral combines the industry spot LNG freight assessments of its Spark25N Pacific routes and Spark 30N Atlantic routes with relevant carbon costs in what the company believes is a world first.
Spark takes the spot assessments and calculates the amount of carbon on those routes emitted by a 160,000-cbm tri-fuel diesel-electric vessel.
