South Africa selects Ngqura port for first LNG import terminal

South Africa will build its first LNG import terminal at the port of Ngqura as part of a major gas to energy transition to shift the country from a high to a low carbon emission environment.

The terminal will also form part of a broader plan to turn the underutilised port and the surrounding Coega Special Economic Zone into a new gas and petroleum trading hub for Southern Africa.
