An increase in tanker and bulk carrier newbuildings may put a damper on the choice of alternative fuels, according to classification society DNV.
In its monthly update, DNV said 19 vessels were ordered with alternative fuel propulsion systems during April.
DNV said 10 of these were for ships that will use LNG and nine for vessels designed to bunker methanol.
