The Panama Canal will offer a night time transit for LNG carriers starting this October as it caters to the increase of US LNG cargoes.
The Panama Canal Authority says the additional transit comes as it has "climbed the learning curve in how to handle ships and see how they behave," said Manuel Benitez, deputy administrator for the Authority.
The night time transit will not require any additional tugs, Benitez says.
