Pakistani charitable trust the Bahria Foundation has started talks with floating storage and regasification unit providers as it moves to fast-track a new LNG import project.
The project manager for the Bahria Foundation LNG Terminal Project (BFLTP) told TradeWinds that front-end engineering and design work is almost half-complete and should be finished by June.
He said a choice of FSRU should be made in June or July, after which engineering, procurement and construction work will get under way, with a target of seeing the terminal in operation by the end of 2019.
