An Oman Shipping-owned vessel appears to be the first to carry a commercial LNG cargo coming from the newly inaugurated Cove Point LNG terminal along the US Atlantic Coast
Cove Point, which is expected to send out 4.6 million tonnes per year of liquefied natural gas, has offtake contracts with Indian utility Gail and Japan's Sumitomo and Tokyo Gas.
The 162,000-cbm Adam LNG (built 2014) is reported by AIS data to have left Cove Point LNG on Monday laden.
