Norway's Odfjell has admitted it is likely to cancel four delayed gas carriers it has on order in China through a joint venture with Oakhill Advisors and Breakwater Capital.

It said the 17,000-cbm LPG/ethylene ships could be ditched at Nantong Sinopacific, leaving a quartet of 22,000-cbm vessels still under contract there.

The move follows recent discussions with the yard.

If it takes the final decision, the first vessel, which has been held up by nearly a year, will be terminated in May, with the others following every three months after that.
