Bernhard Schulte Ship Management chief operating officer David Furnival has taken over as the new president at the Society of International Gas Tanker & Terminal Operators (Sigtto).
Furnival’s appointment was approved by the Sigtto board at a meeting in Japan.
BP Shipping’s Christopher Bailey becomes Sigtto’s new vice president.
Furnival succeeds Total’s Luc Gillet who has stepped down after a three-year term.
Thanking Gillet for “the very positive progress” Sigtto has made during his tenure, the industry body’s general manager Andrew Clifton said: “I now look forward to working with David Furnival as the society presses ahead with the implementation of its new 2016 strategic plan.
