Evalend Shipping has added one 91,000-cbm VLGC and two 82,300-dwt kamsarmax bulk carrier newbuildings to its orderbook. The latest contracts bring the total number of ships the Greek company has under construction to 13, for a total outlay of around $705m.
Shipbuilding sources said Evalend has booked one additional VLGC newbuilding at Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries. The LPG-fuelled, 91,000-cbm gas carrier is an option ship Evalend held at the South Korean shipyard.
