VLGC spot rates have now dropped to operating expense levels, but analysts and brokers are seeing signs that the bottom of the cycle has been reached.
The Baltic Exchange VLGC index dipped to $28.14 per tonne on Wednesday, the equivalent of $7,972 per day for the sub-class of gas carriers.
