Dutch shipowner Anthony Veder is taking on the commercial management of five gas carriers of GATX Corp as the company grows its mixed fleet of mid-to small-scale vessels.
Veder said the quintet, previously part of the troubled Norgas pool, will start trading in its own gas pool this month.
The ownership of the vessels remains with GATX, Veder said.
Three out of five vessels, the newly renamed 8,500-cbm Coral Alameda and 10,200-cbm Coral Shasta (both built 2003), plus the 8,500-cbm Coral Orinda (built 2002), will transport LPG and petrochemical gasses such as ethylene.
