Diversified owner Ultrapetrol reported a second-quarter profit Thursday as its South American river business helped boost the bottom line.

Nasdaq-listed Ultrapetrol pocketed $0.7m in the three months to 30 June, reversing a $0.09m loss logged a year ago.



Excluding one-time items, adjusted net income stood at $1.7m at the end of the second.



The result amounted to $0.06 in earnings per share (EPS).
