Anastastios Papagiannopoulos has been elected new president of Bimco and his first pledge was to promote digitalisation across the shipping industry.
The Greek boss of dry bulk player Common Progress will succeed outgoing president Philippe Louis-Dreyfus.
Under Papagiannopoulos’ leadership, Bimco will be working on a range of projects using convergent technologies, applying new advances in software capability looking to develop a brand new contract editing tool.
