Cyprus' deputy minister for shipping has revealed the number of companies setting up headquarters there has nearly doubled in six years.
Natasa Pilides told AP the numbers are a testament to its growing appeal as a maritime business hub.
She said there are currently 203 shipping companies operating under tax-resident status in Cyprus, 100 more than in 2013. More are doing business there, but are not tax-resident.
