Italy has said Fincantieri's agreement to buy shipbuilder STX France is still valid despite a pledge from new French president Emmanuel Macron to review the terms.
Italian yard group Fincantieri has struck a deal to buy a 66.66% stake on the condition it then sells 7% of its holding to Italy's Fondazione CRT and 12% to French military shipbuilder DCNS, cutting its stake to a non-controlling 48%.
