A major strike has broken out at the Turkish shipbreaking region of Aliaga over pay and working conditions.
The break down in labour relations comes as the region’s yards are packed with cruise ship and other demolition work that has been linked to several fatal accidents.
The strike has been running for six days and involves 1,500 workers at 22 facilities.
