Leading Japanese tonnage provider Nisshin Shipping’s appetite for growth continues unabated, with the Tokyo-based company adding 25 newbuildings to its fleet.

Nisshin is said to have splashed out more than $600m on an order for a series of ultramax and kamsarmax bulkers, as well as stainless-steel chemical tankers.

Sources say Nisshin has commissioned Japan's Oshima Shipbuilding to construct seven of each bulker type for delivery between 2019 and 2021.
