The order directing the seizure of the 55,700-dwt Navios Ulysses (built 2007) stems from a complaint led by D’Amico Dry Ltd (D’Amico Dry), the Dublin offshoot of diversified Italian owner D’Amico.
The plaintiff, which sub-chartered the ship from Sanko Steamship back in February, claims it wasn’t reimbursed for nearly half-a-million dollars worth of bunker fuel that was on board when Navios withdrew the ship from the embattled Japanese operator’s service on 2 May.
