Finnish bulker owner ESL Shipping is likely to continue to charter in smaller vessels to move into niche markets.
The company said it launched new operations at the end of the third quarter in the Baltic Sea and the North Sea with two leased ships.
"In the operating model that is new to the shipping company, vessels will be chartered from the market for the transportation volumes," it said.
