The UN is considering whether to keep sanctions against Liberia despite the West African country's apparent liberation and hesitant return to normality.
Its decision will be influenced by a report which, according to the Financial Times, recommends keeping the sanctions, freezing all assets of former Liberian president, Charles Taylor, and setting up an independent commission to protect the new administration from corruption and help rebuild "corrupted institutions" including the Liberian register.
