The number of tankers using the Suez Canal has fallen but revenues are up on last year.
Latest monthly statistics from the Egyptian government show 234 tankers used the canal last month, compared with 247 in August and 235 in September 2002.
At 1,267 the number of all vessels last month was up on the previous year's 1,071, but down on the August figure of 1,336.
