German owner Reederei "Nord" Klaus E. Oldendorff has ordered two 3,500-teu containerships at South Korea's STX Shipbuilding with two options.
The contract is worth KRW 100.4bn ($85.5m), close to earlier market estimates of $42m each. Delivery is for summer 2007. Oldendorff has also been talking to yards in Asia about an order for six 1,600-teu feederships but the Cyprus-based company refuses to confirm this.
