The investigation by Dutch competition authorities into salvage contracts has widened to include Svitzer Wijsmuller, the IJmuiden-based subsidiary of A.P. Moeller, and Multraship.
The biggest salvage company Smit acknowledged it was being investigated when it issued a statement. Smit’s head offices in Rotterdam were raided by Dutch competition officials yesterday.
A raid took place at the same time on Svitzer Wijsmuller’s offices in IJmuiden when files and computers were searched.
