A "win-win" global agreement for crews on flag-of-convenience (foc) ships has been reached by the International Transport Workers Federation and employers in San Francisco.
Crucially, the agreement scraps the AB-based benchmark system that has underpinned foc crew pay since the ITF began forcing owners to sign collective bargaining agreements in the 1950s.
