A contaminated cargo of chicken feed is raising quite a cackle in Guyana with the South American country’s government and high court seemingly at odds over what to do with it.

The 950 tonnes of soya-based feed, which is said to be contaminated with Salmonella typhimurium, remains onboard the 17,154-dwt Myra (built 1979) on the Demerara River as authorities compete to either unload it in Guyana or send it back to France from where it came.
