US-listed dry-bulk player Diana Shipping has confirmed its most recently-reported capesize acquisition with the price tag even higher than initially reported.



The Greek owner has splashed out a massive $110m for the 180,200-dwt Cape Pelican (built 2005) from Israel’s Sammy Ofer Group.



TradeWinds had reported in its paper edition last Friday that Diana had taken the unit for $107m in a deal set to hand Ofer, which ordered the ship at Imabari Shipbuilding for a reported $38.5m,
