Hili has been credited with successfully developing the transhipment terminal on Malta which is in the process of being privatised. He stepped down as chairman in 2002 to pursue his family firm's interest in, among other things, transhipment terminals, mainly in Europe.
Hili & Co were one of 10 firms requesting pre-qualification in the tendering for the proposed transhipment terminal at Vizhinjam in India's Kerala state.
