MSC Cruises is looking into why one of its newest ships struck a pier in Sicily's port of Palermo on Monday morning.
The Gianni Onorato-led cruise major's 4,888-berth MSC Grandiosa (built 2019) allided with the dock at around 9:30 a.m. local time, the company said.
"Due to reasons that are still being investigated, the ship deviated while maneuvering along the quayside and lightly grazed the end of the quay with its aft part," privately held MSC Cruises said in a statement.
