The US Maritime Administration (MarAd) is asking the public for their input as it ponders the future of the world’s first nuclear-powered passenger-cargoship.
With the removal the nuclear reactor from the 15,600-gt Savannah (built 1962) scheduled to be completed by 2031, MarAd has begun weighing up its options for the vessel that was registered as a national historic landmark in 1991.
